Libraries are increasingly involved in providing data management and GIS services, consultations, project collaboration, and creating open digital data collections. In this talk, Michele will discuss the American Viticulture Areas (AVA) Project and address how the tools and workflows used to create and manage this dataset can be repurposed for other data collections with multiple contributors with limited infrastructure and funding.

UC now has a systemwide contract for the Siteimprove web accessibility review tools, which are available to everyone at UC. Learn how you can use them to make sure your websites are accessible to people with disabilities. The tools regularly scan your public websites to check for and show you how to fix accessibility issues with the web pages and PDF documents. The Siteimprove license also includes tools to help with overall quality assurance (spelling, broken links), SEO, and policy (including customized style guides).

UCR Bearhelp - Leveraging Data to Transform the Enterprise IT helpdesk.

The recent IT Rationalization at UCR presented an opportunity to completely revamp the central IT helpdesk to an effective and trusted campus partner. This transformation required us to focus on ourselves as people, our processes and the tools used in our daily service delivery. Following ITIL Service Framework, the transformation was highly data-driven, providing immediate feedback and exposing service pain-points, while fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
