Make the most efficient use of your time by enjoying your lunch while you learn about continuous process improvement and how to participate in this growing community! In this two-part session, you’ll learn about Lean Six Sigma and find out how to connect with colleagues to keep the conversation going.

Part 1: “Demystifying Lean Six Sigma” - If you've ever wondered about Lean Six Sigma, but didn't want to ask, we'll break it down for you. In this workshop, you will learn tools and tips from your peers across UCs that can be immediately implemented to improve your work environment.  You'll master the differences between Lean and Six Sigma, how they complement one another and how your skills can grow into a yellow, green or black belt.  Furthermore, you'll join in the conversation on nurturing a culture of continuous improvement within yourself, your team or university. (presentation format)

Part 2: “Business Excellence Community of Practice: Where Business Meets IT” - Peanut butter and Jelly. Bacon and eggs. Business and IT. Some things are just better together! A brand-new Community of Practice brings business and IT together- as they were naturally meant to be. The Business Excellence Community of Practice (BECoP) is a consortium of local practitioners in the areas of Organizational Change Management, Continuous Improvement based on Lean Six Sigma, and Project Management.  We welcome anyone who is excited about bringing positive change to our esteemed network of institutions. Through the exchange of a common language and experiences, we leverage this forum to share tips, best practices, resources, and institutional knowledge to enhance organizational insight, business judgement, and strategic acumen. Come find out how you can join the discussion and be part of this flourishing community! (interactive panel format)

Lunch provided at session.
