Like many campuses we have a “cloud-first” bias. The UCPath SOA team is replacing the ageing Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) platform with a state-of-the-art cloud-based API integration platform. We are in the process of migrating and refactoring ~20 web services used by UCPath.
We would like to share our experience so far through a recap of the lessons learned and a demonstration of platform capabilities.
Overview of the Mulesoft Anypoint platform, and the CloudHub deployment
- Anypoint Exchange (repository of pre-built services you can use)
- Pre-built Connectors

We’ll outline the challenges we faced and how we handled them
We’ll outline process improvements we’ve made
- How we built Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) into the delivery process
- How we added automated testing to the development process
We’ll outline the difference between “traditional” ESB approach to the API Lead approach
We’ll present an end-to-end (design to implementation) creation of an API
