Bio
Toby works as an Information Security Architect at UCSF serving both Campus and the Medical Center. He has 21 years of Healthcare IT and Security experience with 19 years at UCSF and was at Stanford before that. His current focus is threat prevention, threat detection, incident response, forensics and the architectural design patterns to enable those efforts. Toby's security domain experience also extends into the areas of enterprise risk management, security defense architectures, cloud security, vulnerability management, HIPAA compliance, security policy and information privacy. Approaching cyber security and information privacy with an attacker's mentality, Toby has lead the transformation of UCSF's security architecture and processes. One of Toby's recent notable contributions is the UC-wide FireEye TDI deployment which was started at UCSF and the Security Operations Monitoring RFP Toby authored and lead.
