Bio
Jessica Hilt has worked as a community builder in both technical and non-technical fields for more than a decade. At the University of California, San Diego, she works in the library as a manager of applications development, concentrating on open-source communities. She teaches technologists how to increase adoption of new technologies, create strategic stories, and use EQ to understand each other. As a founder of UC San Diego’s Women in Advanced Computing group, she’s passionate about helping women with career development and advancement.
Outside of UC San Diego, she works for a non-profit performance storytelling group called So Say We All to give voices to minorities, the underrepresented, or the ignored.
She has been an invited speaker at several technical conferences and IT organizations including the City of San Diego, Intuit, USENIX LISA, and the UC-wide technical conference, UCCSC.
